Metallic Friction Fibers  GMT Inc. is the world’s leading supplier of metallic fiber for automotive friction applications. Our current products are the result of decades of refinement, application of technology, and continuous improvement. Carbon Steel Fibers for use in semi-metallic, low metallic, and other friction formulations. These fibers are available in all common grades like our GMT-180, GMT-380, GMT-05 or to match existing specifications. Copper Fibers- for use in NAO, as well as semi-metallic, low metallic, and other friction formulations. We manufacture both traditional wire-based fibers and strip-based, square cross-section fibers. Copper fibers are made from 99.9% pure copper and are available in common grades like our GCU-340, GCU-540, GCU-740 or to match existing specifications. Brass Fibers to substitute for low quality reprocessed brass turnings, which often contain high levels of lead (Pb), or for use in new friction formulations. These fibers are made from lead-free 270 brass alloy (65/35 brass) and are available in common grades like our GBR-2341 or to match existing specifications.  For use in brake pads, brake shoes, linings, clutch facings and reinforcement of other high temperature composites and friction applications.
