Filtration Product Line  GMT, Inc. is the world's premier supplier of shaved metal fibers. GMT has further developed manufacturing processes that allow us to produce filter media textiles containing these metal fibers. The result is a line of nonwoven metal fiber filter media that present unique properties and benefits to certain wide-ranging filtration applications. The addition of sintering capability further expands the range of uses for the metal filter media. Our Technical Support Team is ready to assist your own Design and Engineering departments in developing cost effective solutions. Metal Fibers Our present capabilities include production of continuous fiber, staple length fiber, and short cut fiber. Alloys available include mild steel, 316L & 434 stainless steels, brass, copper, bronze or aluminum. Fibers produced by the shaving process are available from 25 microns up to 125 microns or more. Fibers may often be processed conventionally via air-lay, wet-lay, and mechanical web processing methods. Non-wovens GMT has patented several unique manufacturing processes including mechanically carded and needle punched metal textiles. Our capabilities now include production capacity up to 105” wide roll goods in many configurations and all of the fiber types listed above. Sintered Metal Media To further improve the physical properties of our metal textiles, GMT developed the VersaFilter™ Family of media. Sintered metal fiber filter media is strong, porous, flexible and easily fabricated. The properties of low pressure drop, high dirt holding capacity, and tortuous flow path make it a very favorable design choice. Further, we have the ability to sinter-laminate our materials to other metal media such as wire cloth, perforated metal, etc. Value-added services GMT is primarily a raw material supplier and the majority of our volume is shipped in sheet or roll goods form. However, we do have additional capabilities to further process our roll goods, such as slitting, die cutting, forming, or light fabrication.
